Der Heimsieg am Samstag gegen Bietigheim war ein „kleiner Befreiungsschlag nach einigen sieglosen Spielen und dem enttäuschenden Unentschieden gegen Friedberg am vergangenen Wochenende“ so das Resümee von Sebastian Held, Coach des EFSC.
Offensiv fehlte durch die Abwesenheiten der EFSC Routiniers Tolga Coskun (Spielsperre aus der letzten Partie gegen Friedberg) und Sean Lane eine gewisse Durchschlagskraft, so dass diese Partie gegen den Aufsteiger gewiss kein Selbstläufer war. Mit Ausnahme der 2:1 Führung der Gäste im zweiten Viertel hatte Frankfurt das Spiel aber im Griff und war stets mit 1-2 Toren vorne. Der Gastgeber kämpfte dennoch wieder mit seiner gewohnten Abschlussschwäche, darüber täuscht auch nicht das Tor von Spielertrainer Held zum 6:3 im dritten Viertel hinweg… oder die Tatsache, dass sich viele EFSC-Spieler in die Torschützenliste eintragen konnten… die Offensive bleibt die Schwäche der Frankfurt.
Darüber hinaus verhalfen leichte Fehler in der EFSC Defensive Bietigheim dazu, an Frankfurt dranzubleiben. Defensiv ging es recht harmlos zu: im Vergleich zu den letzten beiden Partien gegen Friedberg und Ludwigshafen war diese Partie keine Abwehrschlacht, in Summe gab es nämlich nur 8 Unterzahlsituation (6x seitens des EFSC) und je ein Penalty für jedes Team, wobei EFSC Torwart Benatti den 5m gegen ihn glücklicherweise vereiteln konnte.

„Es ist schön, dass wir endlich wieder einen Sieg einfahren konnten. Mein Team hat eine geschlossene Mannschaftsleistung gezeigt. Manuel Büchele und Sascha Temke haben mir defensiv sehr gut gefallen heute, denn beide hatten den starken Center aus Bietigheim im Griff. Philipp Kilian und Christoper Fischer konnten offensiv glänzen. Matchwinner war für mich aber unser Goalie Nicola Benatti, der sogar einen 5 Meter Strafwurf abgewehrt hat.“

Das Team bleibt unverändert auf Platz 8 in der Tabelle der 2. Liga Süd mit nunmehr 5 Siegen, 1 Unentschieden und 8 Niederlagen, dicht gefolgt von Stuttgart. Die 1. Herren-Mannschaft hat nun eine kleine Osterpause und freut sich anschliessend auf die Auswärtsspiele in Pforzheim und Cannstatt.
