Die SVK schlägt Poseidon Hamburg mit 11:14
Die Vorbereitung in Holland hat sich für die Wasserballer der SV Krefeld 72 ausgezahlt. Zum Rückrundenauftakt konnte das Team von Trainer Gabor Bujka einen sicheren Sieg einfahren und zwei Punkte mit nach Hause nehmen.
Im Spiel nach vorne zeigten sich die Krefelder gegenüber der Hinrunde stark verbessert, die Angriffe wurden sehr variabel gefahren, die Feinabstimmung untereinander passte einfach. Durch gute Arbeit im Center – Kristof Hulmann holte eine Herausstellung nach der anderen – und treffsichere Schützen aus der zweiten Reihe konnten die 72er im zweiten Viertel mit fünf Toren auf 2:7 davon ziehen.
Allerdings hatten sie überraschenderweise einige Probleme in der Defensivarbeit, die sonst eigentlich immer die Paradedisziplin des Teams ist. An die Hamburger wurden einige Gastgeschenke verteilt, weil in der Abwehr des Öfteren die Zuordnung verloren ging. Mitte des dritten Viertels kam Poseidon folglich auf 6:7 heran. In dieser Phase hielt Tormann Sebastian Vollmer, der zum Spieler des Tages gewählt wurde, die Führung für sein Team fest.
Krefeld konnte die Führung bis Mitte des vierten Spielabschnitts knapp behaupten, bis Dusan Dragic durch zwei Center-Tore die Führung auf drei Treffer ausbaute. Damit war das Spiel faktisch entschieden.
Teammanager Ferdinand Vogel zeigt sich erleichtert über den Erfolg seiner Mannschaft: „ Mit diesem Sieg und den damit bereits erzielten neun Punkten haben wir einen sicheren Vorsprung vor den Teams am Tabellenende. Wir haben nun die berechtigte Hoffnung, mit dem Abstieg in keinem Fall noch etwas zu tun zu bekommen.“
