Die Schützlinge von Trainer Tim Focke mussten am Samstag (16.12) eine ärgerliche Niederlage kurz vor Schluss hinnehmen. (10:11)
Gegen die Neuköllner entwickelte sich ein spannendes Spiel. Schon vorher wollte Bayer unbedingt die Punkte aus der Hauptstadt mitnehmen. Zur Halbzeit konnten die Männer von Waldsee knapp mit 4:3 führen, dank der Tore von Gergely Antal, Jure Stojanovic, Sven Rössing und Lazar Kilibarda.
Auch in der 2. Halbzeit blieb das Duell stets auf Augenhöhe. Geprägt von wechselnden Führungen und einigen Hinnausstellungen, gaben beide Mannschaften alles, um das Spiel zu gewinnen. Zum Anfang des vierten Viertels bekam Center Sven Rössing einen Ausschluss mit Ersatz. Bayer musste das Spiel somit ohne ihren Torgaranten beenden. Desweiteren zeigten die Schiedsrichter Trainer Tim Focke am Anfang des Vierten Viertels, nachdem sie ihn bereits vorher schon verwarnt hatten, die Rote Karte. Das Team stand zum Ende somit ohne Trainer und Leistungsträger Rössing da.
Aber auch dann ließen sie sich nicht unterkriegen. Es wurde bis zum Ende gekämpft. Nachdem Neukölln mit zwei Toren in Führung gehen konnte, glichen die Ungaren Gergö Kovac und erneut Gergely Antal zwischenzeitlich zum 7:7 aus. Zum Ende dann der Schock. Nachdem Robert Glüder den Führungstreffer zum 10:9 erzielten und Neuklöln darauf wieder ausglich, deutete alles auf eine Punkteteilung hin. Doch zehn Sekunden vor dem Ende war es der Neuköllner Marek Molnar, welcher mit seinem Treffer den Punktegewinn der Uerdinger zu nichte machte.
Damit gehen die Herren in die Winterpause. Mit 5 Punkten überwintert der SV Bayer 08 auf dem 6. Platz. Da das erste Rückrundenspiel gegen den ASC Duisburg vorgezogen wurde, geht es für Bayer am 20. Januar nach Esslingen. Hier möchte das Team den Erfolg aus dem Hinrundenspiel wiederholen um weiter um die oberen Plätze mitspielen zu können.
