„Last-Minute“ Niederlage für Bayer-Herren

Am vergangenen Samstag, 16.12.2017, mussten die Schützlinge von
SG Neukölln Coach Thomas Schertwitis gegen den SV Bayer Uerdingen
antreten.
Bei dem Spiel handelte es sich um das letzte Spiel der Hinrunde,
obgleich am vergangenen Spieltag bereits die Rückrunde eingeläutet
worden war. Die Viertplatzierten Neuköllner trafen am 02.12.2017 auf
den SSV Esslingen und kamen zuhause über ein 6:6 nicht hinaus. Der
SV Bayer Uerdingen traf auf den ASC Duisburg und erkämpfte sich ein
beachtenswertes 8:8. Unentschieden. Vor dem Spiel trennten die beiden
Mannschaften lediglich 1 Punkt voneinander. Die Vorzeichen wiesen auf
ein spannendes Spiel hin und so sollte es auch kommen…
Die Marschrichtung der Neuköllner wurde im Vorfeld klar definiert. Ein
Sieg musste her, um ernsthaft um Platz 3 mitspielen zu können, und
entsprechend konzentriert und motiviert gingen die Spieler um Kapitän
Andreas Schlotterbeck in dieses Spiel.
Die Zuschauer in der Sport- und Lehrschwimmhalle Schöneberg sahen
von Anfang bis Ende, ein aufreibendes, Nerven zerreißendes Spiel auf
Augenhöhe in dem die Neuköllner das ein ums anderes Mal in Führung
gingen, die Gäste vom Waldsee aber stets direkt ausgleichen konnten.
Als die Krefelder dann 2:31 vor dem Ende sogar mit 9:10 in Führung
gingen, war die Spannung in der Schwimmhalle nicht mehr zu
überbieten. Die Neuköllner ließen die Köpfe nicht hängen, zeigten Moral
und erspielten sich Chancen. Routinier Sascha Pacyna war es, der 0:50
vor dem Ende den Ausgleichstreffer zum 10:10 erzielte und die
Zuschauer jubeln ließ. Den folgenden, vermutlich letzten Angriff der
Gäste konnten die Spieler um Torwart Florian Thom abwehren und 19
Sekunden vor dem Spielende nahm SGN-Coach Thomas Schertwitis
eine Auszeit, um seinen Jungs letzte taktische Anweisungen zu geben.
Diese wurden angenommen und umgesetzt. Der Slowakische
Nationalspieler Marek „Molny“ Molnar nahm sich 10 Sekunden vor dem
Schlusspfiff ein Herz und erlöste mit seinem 4. Treffer in diesem Spiel,
zum 11:10, seine Mannschaftskameraden und die Zuschauer. Außerdem
schoss er sich mit seinen Treffern in die Top 10 der Torschützenliste und
sicherte sich den Titel „Spieler des Tages“.
Die nachfolgende Auszeit der Gäste brachte nichts mehr ein, so dass am
Ende ein hart umkämpftes 11:10 (1:0/2:4/3:1/5:5) für die SG Neukölln zu
Buche stand.
Center und Top Scorer der Neuköllner, Spencer Hamby verfolgte das
Spiel per Liveticker aus Kalifonien, wo er momentan mit der USAmerikanischen
Nationalmannschaft einen Lehrgang absolviert. Seine
Kollegen Sascha Pacyna und Andreas Schlotterbeck vertraten ihn aber
würdig. Kapitän „Schlotti“ steuerte sogar 3 Treffer zum Sieg bei.
Centerverteidiger David Kleine: „Zweimal Charakter bewiesen – gegen
Esslingen und jetzt gegen Bayer… So macht Wasserball Spaß“.
Die Berliner verbringen den Jahreswechsel somit auf Platz 4, mit 8:8
Punkten und 81:94 Toren. Vor ihnen rangieren lediglich die Profi-Teams
der Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 (16 Punkte) und Waspo Hannover (14
Punkte) sowie der sich sportlich in Reichweite befindliche ASC Duisburg
(9 Punkte).
Für die SG Neukölln im Einsatz waren:
Florian Thom, Martin Andruszkiewicz, Yannick Arnhold, Joel Buchholz,
Tom Völkel (1), David Kleine, Marek Molnar (4), Andreas Schlotterbeck
(3), Sascha Pacyna (1), Aleksandre Kazakhishvili (1), David Rösch, Tim
Donner (1), Jan Zoske.
Jetzt heißt es erst einmal regenerieren, die Feiertage im Kreise der
Familie verbringen und auch mental Kraft tanken, ehe man am Samstag,
20.01.2018, im „Auswärtsspiel“ gegen den Deutschen Meister
Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 antreten muss.
Die Wasserballer der SG Neukölln verabschieden sich in die
Weihnachtspause und wünschen allen Freunden und Unterstützern des
Wasserballsports, ein frohes, besinnliches Weihnachtsfest und einen
guten, sturzfreien Rutsch ins Neue Jahr 2018.
