Am 12. Dezember 2017 findet in Dresden erstmals ein
Wasserball-Länderspiel statt. Im Rahmen der „FINA Water Polo World
League“ trifft die Deutsche Wasserball-Nationalmannschaft auf das Team
aus Russland.
Der Vorverkauf ist gestartet. Karten können unter
wasserball-dresden.de/tickets sowie telefonisch unter +49 351 30708000
bestellt werden.
„Dresden ist eine super Location, um den Wasserball zu präsentieren.“
freute sich Rainer Hoppe (Vorsitzender der Fachsparte Wasserball im
DSV) über den Vorschlag, das Spiel in die sächsische Landeshauptstadt
zu holen. Denn wer bisher die DSV-Auswahl hautnah erleben wollte,
musste entweder nach Berlin oder an einen der anderen etablierten
Bundesligastandorte reisen.
Auch Bundestrainer Hagen Stamm zögerte im Vorfeld nicht: „Ich finde
die Idee Dresden toll.“ bestätigte er und setzte sich innerhalb des
Verbands dafür ein, dass seine Mannschaft in der neuen Dresdner
Schwimmhalle antreten kann.
„Für uns ist dieses Spiel natürlich eine Riesen-Gelegenheit, um in
Dresden bzw. ganz Sachsen Werbung für den Wasserball-Sport zu machen.“
zeigt sich Tino Ressel vom ausrichtenden Verein SWV TuR Dresden
euphorisch. „Auch wenn wir relativ wenig Zeit für die Organisation
haben, da die Terminvergabe sehr kurzfristig erfolgte, werden wir
diesem Spiel natürlich einen würdigen Rahmen geben.“
