Potsdamer Bundesliga-Wasserballer katapultieren sich mit 20:7 auf Platz 4
Mit einem regelrechten Befreiungsschlag hat sich das Bundesliga-Team des OSC Potsdam am Sonnabend direkt auf den vierten Tabellenrang der Deutschen Wasserball-Liga katapultiert. 20:7 (5:2, 4:1, 7:1, 4:3) besiegte die Mannschaft von Trainer Alexander Tchigir den SSV Esslingen und holte sich ihre ersten Pflichtspielpunkte in dieser Saison. Mit 2:4 Zählern (29:37 Tore) sortierte sich der OSC hinter dem Spitzentrio (jeweils 6:0 Punkte) Waspo 98 Hannover, Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 und ASC Duisburg ins DWL-Klassement ein.
„Wir haben von Beginn an dominiert“, zeigte sich Trainer Alexander Tchigir äußerst zufrieden. „Die Jungs haben mit sehr viel Freude gespielt und die taktischen Vorgaben gut umgesetzt.“ Bereits den ersten Potsdamer Angriff netzte Tomi Tadin zum 1:0 ein. Zwar kamen die süddeutschen Gäste zum 1:1-Ausgleich, doch Reiko Zech und Matteo Dufour erhöhten auf 3:1. Nach Toren von Hannes Schulz und Tadin ging es beim Stand von 5:2 ins zweite Viertel.
Dort brachten drei Treffer in gut zwei Minuten von Ferdinand Korbel, Deni Cerniar und Dennis Strelezkij einen vorentscheidenden Vorsprung. Zum 9:3-Halbzeitstand traf erneut Nationalspieler Strelezkij. Mit der komfortablen Führung im Rücken schien nun vorn alles zu funktionieren. Gleich sieben Tore markierte die Tchigir-Sieben im dritten Viertel. Tadin (2), Schulz, der später zum „Spieler des Tages“ ernannte Dufour, Zech (2) und Lukas Küppers erhöhten auf 16:4. In einem etwas zerfahrenen letzten Abschnitt trafen noch Christian Saggau, Max Kössler, Schulz und Zech zum 20:7-Endstand.
In der Liga geht es für den OSC nun am 18./19. November weiter, wo der OSC auswärts zu den Schlüsselspielen beim Fünften SV Bayer 08 Uerdingen und Dritten ASC Duisburg in Nordrhein-Westfalen ran muss. Eine Generalprobe darauf steigt aber bereits am nächsten Sonnabend im Potsdamer Sport- und Freizeitbad blu. 19 Uhr trifft der OSC im Achtelfinale des Deutschen Pokals auf die White Sharks Hannover.
