Titelverteidiger Waspo 98 Hannover hat erneut den DSV-Pokal gewonnen. Im Finale des 46. deutschen Pokalwettbewerbs der Männer gewannen die Niedersachsen in Potsdam im großen Duell der beiden Champions League-Teilnehmer gegen Rekordgewinner Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 ungefährdet mit 12:8 (2:1, 3:1, 3:4, 4:2) Toren und holten damit zum dritten Mal nach 1998, 2003 und 2017 die Trophäe an die Fösse. Im Kampf um Bronze gewann der ASC Duisburg nach einem 6:10-Rückstand (17.) noch mit 15:12 (4:6, 2:3, 3:2, 6:1) gegen die Lokalmatadoren des OSC Potsdam, die weiter auf ihre erste nationale Medaille im Erwachsenenbereich warten.
Bester Spieler des Turniers wurde Waspo98-Torwart Moritz Schenkel. Aleksandar Radovic (ebenfalls Hannover) und Dennis Eidner (Duisburg) kamen als erfolgreichste Werfer des Wochenendes auf jeweils sieben Treffer.
