Mit dem erst 15 jährigen Torwart, Benjamin Weiss und 3 Fehlenden Spielern, reiste der SV Zwickau 04 nach Magdeburg. 18 Uhr war Anspiel, doch die Anzeigetafel blieb Farblos. Das Spiel, in welchem beide Mannschaften nicht in Bestbesetzung gingen, auch. Franz Czerner traf zum ersten Tor für Zwickau. Den nächsten Treffer für Zwickau konnte Daniel Oelschlägel erzielen. Frank Trommler verwandelte sicher zum 2:3. Doch die 4 Minuten Überzahl waren aus Zwickauer Sicht eine Katastrophe. Lediglich ein Tor erzielten sie. Aber Magdeburg auch. So stand es nach Ablauf der Strafe nur 3:4. Jetzt waren auch keine Signale weder für 30 Sekunden noch für das Ende des Spielabschnittes mehr zu hören. Das Magdeburger Kampfgericht signalisierte nur noch mit einer Pfeife. Dies machte das taktische Herangehen natürlich fast unmöglich. Ohne Zeitanzeige konnte man die Spieldauer nur schätzen. Zur Halbzeit stand es 3:4. Im 3. Viertel konnte sich keine Mannschaft absetzen. Auf beiden Seiten wurden 2 Tore erzielt und vor dem Schlussabschnitt stand es 5:6. Zu Beginn des letzten Abschnittes konnten sich die Zwickauer innerhalb von 3 Minuten mit 3 Toren absetzen. Zwickau sah schon wie der Sieger aus. Doch angetrieben durch ihr lautstarkes Publikum setzten die Magdeburger noch mal Kräfte frei. Sie erzwangen den Ausgleich und gingen 35 Sekunden vor Schluss sogar mit 9:8 in Führung. „Wir haben das Spiel durch die ausgelassenen Chancen in Überzahl verloren. Da muss man sich deutlich absetzten.“ So Trainer J. Wüstner.
Da eine offene Zeitnahme bei einem Spiel vorgeschrieben ist und dies auch zum Ende des 3. Viertels mit einem Tor in letzter Sekunde Spielentscheidend war, wird Zwickau gegen die Wertung Protest einlegen.
