Weidener Wasserballer dürfen nicht mehr patzen
(prg) Die Wasserballer des Schwimmvereines Weiden verfolgen klare Ziele in der laufenden Saison, sie wollen beide Titel in Süddeutschland verteidigen und mit dem weiderholten Double wieder Meister der 2.Wasserball-Liga Süd und Pokalsieger werden. Genau so lautete die Devise letzte Woche auch vor dem Spitzenspiel am vergangenen Samstag in München. Weiden verlor gegen den direkten Kontrahenten das Spiel (11:12), lässt sich aber nicht so leicht von ihrer Zielsetzung abbringen, denn die Chancen Meister zu werden bleiben immer noch bestehen. Allerdings darf sich das Team um den Coach Thomas Aigner keinen Patzer mehr leisten. Ab sofort gilt es, nur wenn alle Spiele gewonnen werden, wäre der Meistertitel immer noch sicher, wenn man in Weiden nicht auf Schützenhilfe hoffen will. Ein sehr schwieriges Unterfangen, dem wollen sich die Oberpfälzer jedoch stellen und sehen es als Ansporn und sportliche Herausforderung.
Am kommenden Samstag geht die Reise für die SV-ler nach Hessen, zum Ersten Frankfurter SC. Die Frankfurter sind, vor allem in ihren heimischen Gewässern, ganz sicher nicht einfach zu bezwingen und schon gar nicht zu unterschätzen. Sie stehen mit einer ausgeglichener Bilanz sicher im Tabellenmittelfeld, auf dem sechsten Rang der Liga, ihre Punkte konnten sie sogar gegen Tabellenführer Würzburg und Bundesligaabsteiger Cannstatt sammeln, dies sollte für die Reger-Städter Warnung genug sein. „Das Spiel in München ging sehr unglücklich für uns verloren, die Punkte sind aber definitiv weg und damit stehen wir jetzt unter Druck. Wir haben definitiv das Potenzial, alle Mannschaften in der Runde zu schlagen. Die Liga ist aber so stark und ausgeglichen, wie nie zuvor und dies ist auch so gefährlich, denn wir wissen auch, wie schnell ein vermeidlich leichtes Spiel daneben gehen kann. Wir müssen jetzt jedes Spiel absolut konzentriert angehen, wenn wir uns für den Trainingsfleiß belohnen wollen“ erklärt Kapitän Thomas Kick.
Trainer Aigner bleibt kämpferisch und vorsichtig optimistisch, muss aber auch nüchtern analysieren: „Wir haben zwei wichtige Spiele verloren, bis jetzt die wichtigsten zwei, das ist bitter. Auch wenn beide unglücklich für uns verliefen, müssen wir daraus lernen, weiter die erkannte Schwächen abarbeiten und auf Bisschen mehr Glück hoffen. Die Mannschaft ist motiviert und engagiert, es wäre schade, wenn sie nicht belohnt werden würde. Anderseits müssen wir auch sehen, dass wir eine junge Truppe haben, die Zeit braucht und dürfen dabei die Geduld nicht verlieren“ so betrachtet der Junge Coach die aktuelle Situation. Das ist auch nur verständlich, hört man aus den Reihen der Vereinsverantwortlichen, dass eine junge Mannschaft mit einem jungen Trainer Zeit benötigt, entscheidend sei, wie sich das Team präsentiert und damit scheinen aktuell alle zufrieden zu sein.
Am 17. und 18. Februar absolvieren die Weidener einen Doppelspieltag. Am Samstag (18:00 Uhr) empfangen sie in der Weidener Thermenwelt die SG Leimen/Mannheim und am Sonntag den Altmeister SV Cannstatt (11:30 Uhr).
