Endrunde im blu wird durch Potsdam dominiert / Abschied von Birgit Seifert
Die wegen terminlicher Probleme erst jetzt ausgetragene Wasserball-Landespokal-Endrunde 2017 der Herren endete mit einem Erfolg des OSC Potsdam. Im heimischen blu setzte sich die Mannschaft, einer Mischung aus ehemaligen Erstliga-Spielern des OSC, aktuellen U18-Bundesliga-Jungs und Potsdamer „Veteranen“, mühelos gegen die Konkurrenz der SGW Brandenburg II (17:3) und des SSV PCK 90 Schwedt (23:6) durch.
Selbst die beiden Potsdamer Jugendtrainer Gregor Karstedt und André Laube ließen es sich nicht nehmen, in heimischen Gewässern noch einmal ins Wasser zu steigen und steuerten sechs Treffer der Gesamtbilanz bei. Dass er es immer noch kann, bewies auch Tobias Lentz. Der Potsdamer Bundesliga-Rekordtorschütze (319 Treffer in 151 Spielen), der Ende 2015 sein letztes Spiel in der ersten Mannschaft absolvierte, war mit je vier Treffern gegen Schwedt und Brandenburg bester Werfer. Ansonsten verteilten sich die insgesamt 40 Tore der beiden Partien auf nahezu alle Feldspieler. Beim 17:3 (3:0, 5:1, 3:1, 6:1) gegen die Reserve des Zweitligisten Brandenburg trafen Lentz (4), Felix Korbel, Sascha Ufnal (je 3), Sascha Seifert (2), Tom Gustavus, Hendrik Schlabitz, Karstedt, Niklas Karossa und Lu Meo Ulrich. In der Partie gegen Schwedt markierten Gustavus, Lentz, Ufnal (je 4), Karstedt (3), Laube (2), Leon Hergaden, Hendrik Walter, Seifert, Korbel, Karossa und Ulrich die Treffer.
In der ausgelassenen und fairen Veranstaltung wurde aber auch kurz innegehalten. In einer Schweigeminute wurde des langjährigen Potsdamer Vereinsmitgliedes Birgit Seifert gedacht. Mit erst 41 Jahren war sie eine Woche zuvor nach über einjährigem Kampf gegen den Krebs im Kreise ihrer Lieben verstorben.
