13. November 2017Spielbericht DSV-Pokal-Achtelfinale SC Neustadt/Weinstraße vs. SG Neukölln Berlin vom 11.11.2017
Am 11.11.2017 mussten die Wasserball-Männer der SG Neukölln beim SC Neustadt/Weinstraße, im Rahmen des DSV-Pokal-Achtelfinales, antreten.
Das Spiel endete nach 32 Minuten 9:9 (0:2/0:2/5:3/4:2) unentschieden. Das darauf folgende 5m-Werfen konnten die Schützlinge von SG Neukölln Coach Thomas Schertwitis für sich entscheiden, so dass am Ende ein 11:13 für die Berliner zu Buche steht und somit der Einzug ins Pokalviertelfinale perfekt gemacht wurde. Gegner wird dort, in der heimischen Schwimmhalle Schöneberg, der OSC Potsdam sein, der sein Spiel gegen die White Sharks Hannover mit 10:9 für sich entscheiden konnte.
Geplanter Austragungstermin ist der 27.01.2018.

Im Rheinland Pfälzischen Neustadt an der Weinstraße legten die Neuköllner einen souveränen Start hin. Nach dem 1. Viertel stand es 0:2 (Schlotterbeck, Molnar). Nach dem 2. Viertel sogar 0:4 (Hamby, Buchholz). Anschließend wurde das Spiel für die Zuschauer interessant. Im 3. Viertel fielen 8 Treffer und die Heimmannschaft kam auf 5:7 heran. Die Neuköllner Treffer erzielten Hamby und 2x Molnar.
Das 4. Viertel begann für die Neuköllner vielversprechend. Nach 2 Spielminuten erzielte Völkel das 5:8 und bei noch verbleibenden 6 Spielminuten wähnten sich die Berliner bereits auf der sicheren Seite. Aber die Neustadter gaben sich nicht auf und erzielten 2 Treffer in Folge, so dass es 4 Minuten vor Schluss 7:8 stand.
Yannick Arnhold, auf Seiten der Berliner war es, der seiner Mannschaft wieder etwas Luft verschaffte und das 7:9 markierte, 3 Minuten vor dem Abpfiff. Die nächsten beiden Angriffe des SC Neustadt wurden mit Toren belohnt und es stand 2 Minuten vor dem Ende 9:9.
34 Sekunden vor dem Ende gab es dann noch einen Schreckmoment für die Neuköllner. Es galt eine Unterzahlsituation abzuwehren. Dies gelang glücklicherweise, so dass man sich ins 5m-Werfen rettete.
Die jeweils ersten beiden Schützen verwandelten Ihre Strafwürfe (für Neukölln Schlotterbeck und Kazakhishvili). Der 3. Neustadter Schütze vergab und Tim Donner verwandelte seinen Versuch, zum 10:12.
Den entscheidenden 5m verwandelte Yannick Arnhold, zum 11:13 Endstand.
Es war das erwartet schwere Spiel auf Augenhöhe, mit dem glücklichen Ende für die Männer von Thomas Schertwitis.
