Die Mannschaft von Trainerin Pia Schledorn hat, wie bereits vor diesem letzten Spieltag erwartet, die diesjährige DWL-Hauptrunde als Tabellenerster abgeschlossen. Im letzten Spiel setzten sich die Uerdingerinnen im NRW-Derby mit 19:8 (4:2,4:1,5:2,6:3) gegen den SV Blau-Weiß Bochum durch.
Von Anfang versuchte die Bochumer Mannschaft, teilweise durch übertriebene Härte, den Spielfluss der Bayer Mannschaft zu unterbinden. Doch die Mannschaft vom Waldsee ließ sich in keiner Weise provozieren und brachte den Tabellendritten durch wirklich schöne Spielzüge, ein ums andere Mal in Verlegenheit. Zu deutlich war die spielerische Überlegenheit der Bayer Mannschaft und am Ende sprang ein souveräner Auswärtssieg dabei heraus.
„Wir haben heute keinen Zweifel daran aufkommen lassen, wer hier als Sieger aus dem Wasser steigt. Am Anfang haben wir einige Zeit gebraucht um mit der teilweise übertriebenen Härte der Bochumerinnen klar zu kommen, aber je länger das Spiel dauerte desto deutlicher wurde unsere spielerische Überlegenheit“ so Trainerin Pia Schledorn.
