Potsdams U15 erkämpft sich mit je zwei Siegen und Niederlagen am Brauhausberg den dritten Platz
Die U15-Wasserballer des OSC Potsdam haben sich als Dritter des ostdeutschen Pokals für die Vorrunde des nationalen Wettbewerbs qualifiziert. Im Endrundenturnier am Wochenende in der Schwimmhalle am Brauhausberg sicherte sich das Team der Jahrgänge 2002 und jünger von Trainer Hannes Schulz durch deutliche Erfolge gegen den Erfurter SSC (18:4) und HSG TH Leipzig (16:5) den Platz auf dem Podest. Gegen die Berliner Vertreter Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 (14:15) und SG Neukölln (9:10) setzte es jeweils eine denkbar knappe Niederlage, so dass es nicht zum ganz großen Wurf und der Verteidigung der Ost-Pokal-Trophäe reichte.
„Die Leistungen waren wechselhaft, aber vielversprechend“, wertete Coach Schulz. „Für viele der Kinder war das der erste Wettkampf in der U15 und auf großem Spielfeld.“ Allein in der Startsieben kamen mit Torhüter Leno Spuhl sowie den Feldspielern Noel Eisenreich, Moritz Bogazcyk und Simon Kuhn vier Akteure des jüngeren Jahrgangs 2003, die noch bis November in der U13 spielten.
Den ostdeutschen Pokal sicherte sich die SG Neukölln mit einem 11:8-Erfolg gegen die zweitplatzierten Spandauer. Ein deutliches 17:5 gegen den Erfurter SSC sicherte der HSG TH Leipzig den vierten Platz des Turniers und damit den letzten Qualifikationsplatz für den deutschen Pokal.
Für die drei spielbestimmenden Jungs Levin Lill (15 Treffer), Marc Lehmann (14) und Kapitän Tilman Voigt (7) geht es bereits am Sonnabend mit dem U17-Bundesliga-Team weiter. Auswärts trifft der OSC 16 Uhr auf den Tabellenführer White Sharks Hannover.
