Mit einem 12:8 (2:1,4:1,1:4,5:2) Sieg gegen die SG Neukölln kehrten unsere Wasserball Männer diesmal aus der Hauptstadt nach Krefeld zurück und zogen so in das Viertelfinale des DSV Pokals ein.
Im zweiten Spiel gegen Neukölln innerhalb einer Woche konnte das Bayer Team die Verhältnisse wieder etwas zurechtrücken, sicherlich auch aufgrund der Rückkehr von Sven Roessing der insgesamt 5 Tore erzielen konnte. Tobias Gietz der ebenfalls ins Team zurückgekehrt war, wurde direkt in der Anfangsphase vom schwachen Schiedsrichter aus dem Spiel genommen, hier hätte sicherlich etwas mehr Fingerspitzengefühl gutgetan. Ein großer Rückhalt war an diesem Tag auch Oliver Greck, der mit zahlreichen Paraden die Neuköllner Angreifer zur Verzweiflung brachte und aus Sicht des Trainers Spieler des Spiels war.
Insgesamt aber war es eine geschlossen gute Mannschaftsleistung mit einer komfortablen 6:2 Führung zur Halbzeit, danach machte es das Team allerdings nochmal spannend und Neukölln kam auf 6:7 heran. Eine nochmalige deutliche Leistungssteigerung im Schlussabschnitt bescherte aber am Ende den insgesamt hoch verdienten Sieg des Focke Teams.
