Der Wasserball-Bundesligist SC Neustadt reist an diesem Sonntag, den 15.März’15, zum SVV Plauen. Die Mannschaft von der Weinstraße liegt nun bereits seit drei Monaten an der Spitze der B-Gruppe.
Noch immer ist sie in der diesjährigen DWL-Saison ungeschlagen, musste lediglich gegen Krefeld und Weiden die Punkte teilen.
Dennoch liegen die Plauener nur einen Zähler dahinter, rangieren vor diesem Spieltag allerdings nur auf Rang vier. Die ambitionierten Verfolger Krefeld und Potsdam komplettieren das Viererfeld im Kampf um die besten und aussichtsreichsten Plätze in der unteren Hälfte der Deutschen Wasserball-Beletage.
Die Vogtländer haben allerdings schon ein Spiel mehr bestritten und haben nun den größeren Druck, dieses Spiel unbedingt gewinnen zu müssen.
So schieben die Neustadter die Favoritenrolle lieber den Plauenern in die Füße, die mit einer Zusatztribüne wieder einmal für ein volles Haus und eine tolle Kulisse sorgen möchten. Darauf freuen sich natürlich auch die Pfälzer, die wohl das erste Mal auswärts vor mehr Fans als im heimischen Stadionbad spielen werden. In Sachen Rahmenprogramm geben die 2013 in die 1.Liga-Aufgestiegenen derzeit eine vorbildliche Stellung ab.
Nicht aber unbedingt in ihrem Wasserballspiel. Dort hat das Team von Trainer Dragan Matutinovic und Manager Michael Heinz Stärken und Schwächen ausgemacht. Dieses Wissen wollen sie nun im Spiel umsetzen.
Man erwartet ein enges Spiel, welches hoffentlich nicht mit von den Schiedsrichtern entschieden wird.
Im Blick auf die vergangenen Ergebnisse wird die Brisanz des Duells deutlich. Im Hinspiel Anfang Dezember führte Plauen stellenweise, musste aber am Ende beim 10:8 der Neustadter mit leeren Händen nach Hause fahren. Auch in der vergangenen Saison gewannen die Neustadter die Heimpartie, verloren auswärts allerdings deutlich nach schwacher Partie mit 9:16. Die erste Revanche beim Platzierungsturnier misslang im Fünfmeter-Werfen.
Dieses Mal soll beim Ausflug in Richtung Deutschlands Osten für die bunte Wasserball-Truppe aus der sonnig-warmen Pfalz mehr herausspringen. Das Spiel kann durchaus als vorentscheidend um die auszuspielenden Platzierungen gesehen werden, zumal sie ein Signal für die noch ausstehenden, nachfolgenden Spiele birgt.
Die Abfahrt für die gut 400km lange Reise wird bereits um 8 Uhr sein, da das Spiel um 14 Uhr startet. Für die Heimfans gibt es wieder das Angebot das Spiel auf dem spannenden Liveticker über die dsv-Seite mitzuverfolgen.
