Potsdams Reserve im „Final Four“ des Ost-Pokals
Wasserball-Landesligist OSC Potsdam II hat sich fürs „Final Four“ des Ostdeutschen Pokals qualifiziert. Gegen die Reserve von Rekordmeister Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 siegte die Mannschaft von Trainer André Laube dank eines starken Auftaktviertels 9:7 (5:0, 1:3, 1:2, 2:2) am Sonntag-Abend im blu. Zusammen mit den Potsdamern haben sich die Zweitligisten SV Zwickau 1904, SGW Brandenburg und Stepp Praha für das Halbfinale qualifiziert. „Wir würden das Turnier gern ausrichten“, sagt Laube. „Wegen eines Schwimmwettkampfes im blu am 23./24. Juni ist das leider am geplanten Termin nicht möglich. Wir haben jetzt der Landesgruppe Ost angeboten, eine Woche später hier zu spielen.“
Dass das Viertelfinale im Vergleich zum Spiel der ersten Runde gegen die HSG TH Leipzig (18:1) nicht so deutlich ausfallen würde, war klar. Immerhin ist der Berliner Verbandsligist Spandau II mit einer Vielzahl ehemaliger deutscher und polnischer Nationalspieler gespickt. Umso überraschender gestaltete sich das erste Viertel sehr deutlich. Wie aus einem Guss spielte das OSC-Gemisch aus vier Akteuren des DWL-Kaders und etlichen U18-Bundesligsa-Spielern in den ersten Minuten. In knapp sieben Minuten brachten Max Kössler, Erik Miers (2) und Felix Korbel (2) den Gastgeber 5:0 in Front.
Die zunächst konsternierten Berliner tauten ab dem zweiten Viertel auf und tauchten nun immer wieder gefährlich vorm Potsdamer Tor auf. Der starke OSC-Keeper Marc Langer vereitelte zwar etliche Großchancen, musste aber dennoch dreimal hinter sich greifen. Die bis dahin abschlusssicheren Potsdamer kamen vorn zwar oft zu guten Chancen, vergaben diese aber reihenweise. Lediglich Felix Korbel markierte mit seinem dritten Treffer das 6:1, beim Stand von 6:3 wurden die Seiten gewechselt.
Den Spielfluss fand der OSC auch später nicht mehr und schleppte sich über die Zeit. Nach Tor von Gregor Karstedt zum 7:4 im dritten Viertel kamen die erfahrenen Gäste Anfang des Schlussviertels auf 7:6 heran. Hendrik Walter erzielte das 8:6. Wenig später parierte Langer in der unsicheren Phase einen Strafwurf, dennoch schlossen die Wasserfreunde bei noch gut fünf Minuten Spielzeit auf 8:7 auf. Erst der Treffer 17 Sekunden vor dem Abpfiff von Florenz Korbel zum 9:7 brachte die Erlösung.
