Letztes Heimspiel für die Ludwigsburger Wasserballer
Nach den drei glatten Niederlagen gegen den SC Neustadt in der ersten Runde der Playoffs, darf der SVL am Samstag (18.00 Uhr) den nach der Hauptrunde auf Tabellenplatz 5 angesiedelte SV Krefeld 72 nun nochmals im „auswärtigen“ Inselbad begrüßen. Für die Gastgeber wäre ein Sieg wichtig, um sich eine gute Ausgangssituation für die folgenden Spiele in der Best-of-Three Serie im Kampf um den fünften Platz im Endklassement zu wahren.
Der noch nicht sonderlichen sommerlichen Witterung und dem frühen Termin der Serie geschuldet, treten die Schwaben zu den Entscheidungsspielen noch nicht im heimischen Freibad an, sondern tragen auch dieses Entscheidungsspiele im Stuttgarter Inselbad aus.
Der SVL möchte dabei seine Leistung aus den letzten Rundenspielen aufgreifen und dem deutlichen Heimssieg vor Rundenschluss gegen Krefeld ein weiteres gutes Ergebnis folgen lassen. Nachdem man zuletzt in der erste Playoff-Runde gegen den SC Neustadt sich mehr erwartet hattte.
Mit dem wieder genesenen Adam Blank hofft der SVL auf mehr Durchschlagskraft in der Offensive
„Das Ausscheiden gegen Neustadt hat uns besonders geärgert, da wir sehr gerne in die Runde der letzten Vier eingezogen wären und in dieser Serie nicht unseren besten Wasserball gespielt haben. Aber das ist Abgehakt jetzt gilt es im Schlussspurt der Liga einen guten Abschluss hinzulegen.“ Gibt Mannschaftskapitän Adrijan Jakovcev die Parole für die finalen Partien aus.
Des Weiteren haben die Schwaben mit den Krefeldern noch eine Rechnung aus dem Hinspiel der Liga offen. Dort hatte Krefeld mit 9:8 gewonnen, der SVL hatte dabei zahlreiche Hinausstellungen und drei Wasserverweise zu seinen Ungunsten verbuchen müssen und war letztlich nur knapp an einem Punktgewinn vorbeigeschrammt.
In der Defensive gilt es ähnlich kompakt wie im Rundenspiel zu agieren
„Krefeld geht sicherlich favorisiert in die Partie, das ist klar. Aber wir wissen wie wir gegen sie zu spielen haben und hoffen, dass unser Matchplan so lange wie möglich aufgeht. Wir haben uns in der Tabelle im Saisonverlauf nach oben gekämpft und wollen diese Platzierung bestätigen, dann hätten wir für diese Saison mit einigen Unwägbarkeiten viel erreicht“, schätzt der Trainer der Schwarz-Gelben Sven Schulz die Partie im Vorfeld ein.
Mit dem sechsten Platz hatten sich die Ludwigsburger den Klassenerhalt bereits vorzeitig gesichert und damit ihr selbstgestecktes Ziel in der ersten Saison im Wasserballoberhaus erreicht. Nichtsdestotrotz gilt es weiter die Leistung ins Wasser zu bringen und in den ausstehenden drei Spielen dies unter Beweis zu stellen. Für die kommende Saison wurden bereits erste Weichen gestellt und auch am Kader der 08er wird bereits gebastelt. Man darf gespannt sein, wer in der neuen Spielzeit für das Team vom Neckar ins Wasser steigen wird.
