Spielvorbericht DWL 12. Spieltag SG Neukölln Berlin vs. ASC Duisburg am 10.03.2018
Am Samstag, den 10.03.2018 ist die wasserballfreie Zeit endlich beendet und die Wasserballer der SG Neukölln müssen gegen den momentan Drittplatzierten, den Amateur-Schwimm-Club Duisburg, antreten.
Anpfiff ist, in der Sport- und Lehrschwimmhalle Schöneberg, wie gewohnt, um 18:00 Uhr.
SGN-Coach Schertwitis erwartet ein Spiel auf Augenhöhe.
Ein Blick auf die Tabelle verdeutlicht die Brisanz dieser Partie.
Der Vorjahresdritte aus Duisburg liegt mit 13:9 Punkten und 115:140 Toren (-25) derzeit auf Rang 3. Die Neuköllner nur 2 Punkte dahinter, mit 11:11 Punkten und 101:124 Toren (-23) auf Rang 4. Das Hinspiel gewannen die Duisburger, dank eines starken letzten Viertels, mit 14:11. Da in der DWL bei Punktgleichheit der direkte Vergleich zählt, könnten die Berliner mit einem Sieg mit 4 Toren Vorsprung auf Platz 3 klettern. Den Duisburgern ihrerseits wäre bei einem Sieg der 3. Platz nicht mehr zu nehmen.
Nach dem Abschluss der Hauptrunde spielen die Dritt- bis Sechstplatzierten die Halbfinalgegner für die Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 und Waspo Hannover aus, die als Erst- und Zweitplatzierte für das Halbfinale gesetzt sind.
Der 3. Platz wäre also wichtig, um in den Qualifikationsspielen auf den Sechstplatzierten und somit vermeintlich schwächeren Gegner zu treffen. Das andere Qualifikationsduell liefert sich der Viert- und Fünftplatzierte, jeweils im Best-of-Five-Modus.
Im Hinspiel hat Jan Bakulo den Unterschied ausgemacht. Der Litauische Nationalspieler, in Diensten des ASCD, erzielte 6 Treffer und brachte die Verteidiger der SG Neukölln an den Rand der Verzweiflung. Er belegt zurzeit Platz 2 in der Torschützenliste, mit 28 Treffern, hinter Aleksandar Radovic, von Waspo Hannover (37 Tore).
Weiteres Augenmerk sollte auf die Nationalspieler in Reihen der Duisburger gelegt werden. Paul Schüler, Dennis Eidner und Tobias Gietz Schwimm-Gemeinschaft Neukölln e.V. Berlin Fachbereich Wasserball Carsten Oestreich
konnten zusammen 57 Tore erzielen. Addiert man die 28 Treffer von Bakulo erhält man die beeindruckende Zahl von 85 Toren. Somit haben die Vier knapp Dreiviertel aller Duisburger Treffer erzielt.
Die Neuköllner, um Kapitän Andreas Schlotterbeck, müssen sich nun aber wahrlich nicht verstecken, spielen sie doch die beste Saison seit langer Zeit. Der Siebtplatzierte der vergangenen Saison liegt total im Soll, was das selbstgesteckte Ziel, Platz 3, betrifft. Dafür muss aber ein Sieg mit mindestens 4 Toren Vorsprung her und am letzten Spieltag auch ein Auswärtssieg in Hannover, gegen die White Sharks.
Alles ist machbar und träumen erlaubt…
Die Top-Torschützen der Neuköllner sind US-Auswahlspieler Spencer Hamby (Platz 19, mit 18 Toren), unser Slowakischer Nationalspieler Marek Molnar (Platz 21, 17 Tore) und Kapitän Andreas Schlotterbeck (Platz 27, 14 Tore).
Coach Thomas Schertwitis kann personell beinahe aus dem Vollen schöpfen. Lediglich Stamm- und Nationalmannschaftstorwart Florian Thom steht nicht zur Verfügung. Ein im Training zugezogener Fingerbruch macht einen Einsatz unmöglich. Graue Haare müssen den Verantwortlichen der Neuköllner aber nicht wachsen, steht doch mit Tim Höhne ein international erfahrener Top-Torhüter in den Startlöchern.
Warten wir es ab, welche der beiden Mannschaften die vier spielfreien Wochen besser nutzen konnte und freuen wir uns auf ein faires, spannendes Spiel.
