Auch die Organisatoren des heimischen Düsseldorfer SC freuen sich auf das abermalige Wasserball-Event im Rheinbad50: Es ist das erste Länderspiel in der neuen Trainings- und Wettkampfstätte direkt am Messegelände, allerdings sind Deutschlands Männer in der Vergangenheit auf anderen Anlagin der Landeshauptstadt zu Gast gewesen: 1959 im alten Schwimmstadion mit einem Freundschaftsspiel gegen Südafrika sowie 2014 im Allwetterbad Flingern bei einem Vier-Nationen-Turnier mit den USA sowie den beiden damaligen WM-Finalisten Ungarn und Montenegro.
