Stuttgart – Stuttgarts Fußballbundesligist konnte am Wochenende seine negative Auswärtsserie endlich durchbrechen, unverändert trüb sieht es da aktuell bei einem anderen Cannstatter Traditionsverein aus: Die Zweitligawasserballer des SVC warten nach wie vor auf die ersten Punkte aus fremden Becken – und konnten diese beim 5:20 (1:7, 1:4, 1:1, 2:8) am Sonntag gegen den SV Weiden erneut nicht einfahren.
Es scheint wie verhext: So überzeugend die Zweitligawasserballer aus der Sauerwasserstadt bisher vor heimischem Publikum aufspielten, so verzweifelt jagt man beim Schwimmverein Cannstatt immer noch den ersten Auswärtspunkten hinterher. Die nächste Chance hierfür eröffnete sich am vergangenen Sonntag in der Oberpfalz beim SV Weiden 1921, der ebenfalls ehemaliger Oberhausteilnehmer ist und bereits vor einigen Saisons den Weg in die zweite Liga hat antreten müssen. Dort spielen die Weidener seitdem konstant um die vorderen Plätze mit und zeigten diese Klasse gegen den Liganeuling aus Schwaben auch gleich von Beginn an. Anders wie in den letzten Heimspielen schaffte der SVC keinen guten Auftakt und sah sich schnell im Hintertreffen – schon nach sieben Minuten konnten die Hausherren ihren siebten Treffer bejubeln, ehe Neuzugang Braeden Drennan für den SVC auf 1:7 verkürzte.
Doch selbst das Tor des Neuseeländers löste bei den weitgereisten Gästen, die erneut auf mehrere Stammkräfte verzichten mussten, nicht die erhoffte Initialzündung aus. Vielmehr schleppte sich der SV Cannstatt auch im zweiten Spielabschnitt nur schwerfällig vor das gegnerische Tor, vor dem der sonst so brillante Angriff kaum stattfand. Hinzu kam die schwimmerische Qualität der Weidener, die in vielen Situationen zu schnellen Kontern führte und eine komfortable 11:2-Führung aus Sicht der Oberpfälzer bedeutete.
Erst der Seitenwechsel schien für Bewegung in den Reihen der Cannstatter zu sorgen – entsprechend hart umkämpft begann das dritte Viertel. Zwar weiterhin fern von jeglichen Zählern arbeitete nun zumindest die Abwehr des SVC verlässlicher. Nur ein Gegentor durch Routinier Thomas Kick und gar ein Anschlusstreffer, erzielt von Adrian Thran, waren die erfreuliche Folge.
Neben der klaren Überlegenheit der Gastgeber fiel nun aber auch die fragwürdige Schiedsrichterleistung ins Gewicht, die Trainer Andras Feher am Beckenrand ein ums andere Mal zur Verzweiflung brachte. Das Spiel wurde auf beiden Seiten ruppiger, die Entscheidungen dadurch aber nicht unbedingt gleichwertig durchgreifender und so führte eine unübersichtliche Situation vor dem Tor des SVC kurz vor Schluss noch zu einem Ausschluss mit Ersatz (entspricht der roten Karte beim Fußball) gegen den SVCler Evan Müller. Ähnliches Schicksal hatte kurz zuvor bereits Braeden Drennan getroffen, der nach drei Ausschlüssen ebenfalls das Wasser verlassen musste. Für Coach Andras Feher bedeutete das lediglich eine Wechseloption für verbleibende vier Spielminuten, in denen die Gäste nun komplett Schiffbruch erlitten. Gegen unverändert starke Weidener, die noch dazu von solcherlei Komplettausfällen verschont blieben, verlor der Schwimmverein Cannstatt schlussendlich verdient mit 5:20 – und konnte der Negativserie bei Auswärtsfahrten erneut kein Paroli bieten.
Genug Zeit für die passende Antwort auf diese Statistik sollte sich aber spätestens nach der Osterspielpause finden. Dann werden für das Team um Kapitän Lennart Löscher sämtliche Heimspiele der Saison absolviert sein und die verbleibenden sieben Auswärtsspiele in den Mittelpunkt rücken.
Gelegenheit zur Bestätigung der mehr als positiven Mombachbadbilanz wird es indes auch noch geben: Vor dem „Heimfinale“ gegen Frankfurt im April gastiert bereits in zwei Wochen die SG Stadtwerke München. Anpfiff am 4. März ist um 13 Uhr.
