Potsdamer Bundesliga-Wasserballer gastieren Sonntag in Hannover
Die Partien kurz vor der Weihnachtspause haben immer eine besondere Brisanz. Alle Mannschaften wollen sich unbedingt mit einem Erfolgserlebnis ins Fest verabschieden – so auch das Wasserball-Bundesliga-Team des OSC Potsdam. Der Tabellenfünfte der Pro A-Gruppe der Deutschen Wasserball-Liga (6:8 Punkte/70:96 Tore) lechzt nach einem Sieg, nachdem die letzten beiden Partien gegen die SG Neukölln (11:16) und die Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 (2:22) verloren gingen. Beim punktlosen Tabellen-Schlusslicht White Sharks Hannover (0:14 / 52:96) soll es daher am Sonntag-Abend (18 Uhr) endlich wieder klappen.
„Wir sind gegen Neukölln und Spandau nicht annähernd an unser eigentliches Leistungsvermögen herangekommen“, so OSC-Trainer Alexander Tchigir. „Das muss sich gegen Hannover ändern.“ Dass die White Sharks alles andere als leicht zu bezwingen sind, sollte der OSC noch gut in Erinnerung haben. Im Pokalspiel vor fünf Wochen siegte Potsdam nur glücklich 10:9 im heimischen Becken und löste damit das Ticket fürs Viertelfinale. Auch sonst verloren die White Sharks oft nur hauchdünn. Gegen den ASC Duisburg hieß es 9:11, bei der SG Neukölln 8:10 und gegen Bayer Uerdingen 7:10. „Wir müssen uns zu 100 Prozent konzentrieren und mit höchster Bereitschaft in das Match gehen“, fordert Tchigir.
Dass Erfolge des Potsdamer Wasserball-Teams auch außerhalb der Stadtgrenzen gewürdigt werden, zeigte sich letzte Woche bei der Sportgala des Landes Brandenburg. In der Kategorie „Mannschaft des Jahres 2017“ wurden die OSC-Wasserballer nach dem vierten Bundesliga-Rang und der Europapokal-Qualifikation mit dem Bronze-Rang dekoriert. „Das muss der Truppe auch hinsichtlich des Spiels in Hannover noch einmal Schwung geben“, sagt Potsdams Wasserball-Chef Andreas Ehrl. „Wir sind sehr stolz und dankbar, dass wir ausgezeichnet wurden.“
