Poseidons Wasserballer atmen durch
Hamburg. „Das haben wir uns verdient“. Poseidons Spieler meinen die kleine Pause an diesem Wochenende bis zum Start in die Saison am 29. Oktober. Nach der intensiven Vorbereitung will sich der Bundesliga-Aufsteiger erstmal ein wenig erholen und gemeinsam feiern. Teambuilding ist angesagt.
Elf harte Wochen Vorbereitung liegen hinter den Liganeulingen. Sieben neue Spieler wurden integriert, dazu kamen mit den Turnieren in Potsdam und Plauen acht Spiele gegen die Liga-Konkurrenz. Und die hatten es in sich. Poseidon stellte sich gleich sechsmal Teams aus der oberen Tabellenhälfte.
„Es ist gut, dass wir jetzt ein Wochenende frei haben, damit alle noch einmal die Köpfe frei bekommen können“, so Trainer Florian Lemke. „Wir haben hart gearbeitet und viel im Grundlagenbereich getan. Unsere Basis sollte nun so gut sein, dass wir eine ganze Saison davon profitieren können.“ Lemke sieht sein Team gut aufstellt. Insbesondere punktet Poseidon in einer konsequenten Abwehr.
An der Torgefährlichkeit müsse dagegen noch gearbeitet werden. In der Bundesliga ließen sich die Gegner nicht so einfach überwinden. Leichte Gegner wird es für den Aufsteiger nicht geben. Das 6:6-Unentschieden gegen Mitaufsteiger SV Würzburg 05 in Plauen machte deutlich, dass leichte Fahrlässigkeit sofort bestraft wird.
Auf Lemke als jüngsten Bundesliga-Trainer (26) und seinem Team warten neue Herausforderungen in der nationalen Oberklasse. Er blickt voraus: „Wir werden das Gelernte aus den Spielen mitnehmen und an den Schwächen arbeiten.“ Er denkt langfristig, die Saisonrichtung Play-off oder Play-down entscheidet sich erst im Frühjahr. „Wir sind auf den richtigen Weg“, strahlt der Trainer ansteckenden Optimismus aus.
Teambuilding ist angesagt
Das Team soll am Wochenende bei einer Mannschaftsfeier zusammenrücken: „Trotz vieler Zu- und Abgänge hat sich eine schöne Einheit geformt. Diese gilt es jetzt zu festigen und noch weiter zusammenzubringen!“, so Lemke.
Mit dem Pokal startet die Saison
Die erste Bewährungschance erhalten die Poseidonen am 29. Oktober mit der 1. Runde im Deutschen Wasserball-Pokal im Duell bei Namensvetter Poseidon Duisburg. Zum Liga-Start geht es am 5. November erneut an die Wedau gegen Duisburg 98. Heimpremiere im Inselparkbad haben die Poseidonen am 19. November gegen SC Wedding Berlin.
