Einen ersten kleinen Schritt Richtung A-Gruppen-Aufstieg und Playoff-Teilnahme der Deutschen Wasserball-Liga hat der OSC Potsdam am Sonnabend gemacht. In den Qualifikationsspielen siegte die Mannschaft von Trainer Alexander Tchigir vor gut 250 Zuschauern im Brauhausberg-Bad 10:7 (4:2, 2:0, 3:4, 1:1) gegen den SVV Plauen. Am kommenden Wochenende folgen nun die Spiele zwei und drei der „Best-of-five“-Serie im Vogtland.
Wer zuerst drei Partien des Duells zwischen dem A-Gruppen-Achten Plauen und B-Gruppen-Ersten Potsdam gewonnen hat, spielt im kommenden Jahr im Oberhaus der DWL. „Dass die Mannschaft dort unbedingt hin will, hat sie eindrucksvoll bewiesen“, so Tchigir. „Ich bin mit dem Auftritt sehr zufrieden.“ Gerade die Konzentration und Disziplin in der Verteidigung ließen die Plauener in der ersten Halbzeit fast verzweifeln. Nur selten brachten die Gäste den Ball gefährlich in Richtung des OSC-Kastens. Vorn hingegen nutzte Potsdam seine Chancen gut aus – allen voran Kapitän Matteo Dufour. Bei lediglich sechs Versuchen netzte der gebürtige Italiener, der am Sonnabend sein 115. Bundesliga-Spiel bestritt, gleich fünfmal ein. Vier Treffer erzielte er bereits zum 6:2-Halbzeitstand. „Die ganze Mannschaft war heute toll. Wirklich alle haben gekämpft und sich bis zur letzten Sekunde aufgeopfert“, so Dufour.
Selbst als im dritten Spielviertel die Gäste zu besseren Möglichkeiten kamen und vier Treffer markierten, hatten die OSC-Mannen immer die passende Antwort parat. Reiko Zech, der bereits das 1:0 erzielte, traf zum 7:3, Dufour zum 8:4 und der sehr agile Hannes Schulz zum 9:5. Als Plauen im letzten Viertel auf 9:7 herankam, atmete das Publikum noch einmal schwer durch, doch wurde rasch durch den dreimaligen Torschützen und zum „Spieler des Tages“ gewählten Zech erlöst. Das 10:7 durch den Zwei-Meter-Hünen hatte noch die verbleibenden knapp vier Minuten Bestand. „Das war wichtig“, so Dufour nach dem Spiel erleichtert. „Nun heißt es, solch eine Leistung am besten noch zweimal in Plauen abzurufen. Dann wären wir durch.“ Gingen ein oder beide Partien am 16./17. April verloren, käme es am Donnerstag (21.4./20 Uhr) am Brauhausberg zur vierten Begegnung.
Im Soll blieb auch das Potsdamer U17-Bundesliga-Team im Anschluss an die DWL-Begegnung. 10:10 (5:2, 4:4, 1:2, 0:2) trennte sich der OSC in den Pre-Playoffs vom SVV Plauen, haderte aber ein wenig mit einer verspielten Vier-Tore-Führung. „Wir haben es Plauen nach unserem hohen Vorsprung zu leicht gemacht“, erklärte Trainer André Laube. „Die Mannschaft weiß aber, dass sie Plauen auch auswärts packen kann.“ Der Sieger in der Addition beider Spiele verschafft sich eine bessere Ausgangssituation in den Playoffs. Nächsten Sonnabend spielt die U17 nach ihren Männern 18 Uhr im Plauener Stadtbad.
Nach einem glänzenden ersten Viertel hatte sich der OSC durch Florenz Korbel (2) und Sascha Ufnal (3) ein 5:2 erkämpft. Zur Halbzeit führten die Laube-Jungs nach Treffern von Luka Zigic (6:2), Hendrik Walter (7:3), Ufnal (8:4) und Sascha Seifert (9:6) noch immer mit drei Treffern, fanden aber nach dem Seitenwechsel offensiv kein echtes Mittel mehr. Lediglich Korbel markierte noch das 10:8 Ende des dritten Abschnitts, bevor der letzte Durchgang mit 0:2 an die Gäste ging. „Wenn man bedenkt, dass in unserer Anfangsformation vier U15-Spieler standen und diese auch noch sechs der zehn Tore erzielt haben, ist diese Leistung schon äußerst beachtlich“, so Laube. „Aber wir wollen mehr.“
