Potsdams U17 empfängt SC Wedding zum Lokalderby
Die Bundesliga-Herren des OSC Potsdam werden am Sonnabend nicht die Gelegenheit haben, sich mit einem Sieg in die Weihnachtspause zu verabschieden. Wegen einer Krankheitswelle im Kreis der Gäste vom Duisburger SV 98 haben diese am Donnerstag-Abend das für Sonnabend (18 Uhr) im Brauhausberg-Bad angesetzte Spiel abgesagt. „Das ist wirklich sehr traurig“, so André Laube, sportlicher Leiter der Potsdamer Wasserball-Abteilung. „Die Jungs wollten sich am Samstag für die beiden knappen 9:10-Niederlagen in Folge nun gegen den Tabellenführer revanchieren. Es wäre auch für den Kopf wichtig gewesen, sich mit einem Erfolg in die lange Pause zu verabschieden.“ Ob das Spiel neu angesetzt werde, müsse nun durch DWL-Rundenleiter Bernt Jacobs entschieden werden.
Unberührt von dieser Spielabsage bleibt natürlich das U17-Bundesliga-Spiel des OSC Potsdam gegen den SC Wedding, das planmäßig 19.45 Uhr angepfiffen wird. „Wir hoffen, dass trotzdem viele Fans den Weg ins Brauhausberg-Bad finden, um den Nachwuchs anzufeuern“, sagt Timo Seifert, Vorsitzender des Potsdamer Wasserball-Fördervereins. „Der Eintritt ist unter diesen Umständen natürlich frei.“
Trainer Alexander Tchigir will nun das Beste aus der Situation machen. Er hat seine Männer kurzerhand zum Champions League Spiel der befreundeten Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 gegen Primorje Rijeka 16 Uhr in die Schöneberger Schwimmhalle bestellt. Nach dieser Begegnung geht es zum Brauhausberg-Bad, um die feie Fläche dort zu einem Trainingsspiel zu nutzen. „Falls ein paar Fans nicht rechtzeitig Bescheid bekommen, können sie sich trotzdem Wasserball anschauen“, so Tchigir.
In den Mittelpunkt des Wasserball-Geschehens am Sonnabend rückt nun natürlich das U17-Spiel. Mit 8:0 Punkten und 76:26 Treffern ist der OSC glänzend in die Bundesliga-Saison gestartet und empfängt den Nachwuchs des Lokalrivalen SC Wedding. Dieser ließ letztes Wochenende in den beiden 8:8-Unentschieden beim SSV Esslingen und SV Würzburg 05 die ersten beiden Punkte und rangiert mit 6:2 Zählern (48:37 Tore) auf dem dritten Platz der Bundesliga-B-Gruppe. „Das Spiel bleibt sicher bis in die Schlussminuten offen“, denkt Trainer Laube. „Beide Mannschaften kennen sich sehr gut. Natürlich hoffen wir, mit einem Sieg in die Pause gehen zu können.“
Während für die U17 dann bereits am 16. Januar das nächste Spiel ansteht, geht es für die Männer wegen der EM-Pause erst am 31. Januar im Pokal weiter. Dort empfängt der OSC ausgerechnet den Duisburger SV 98, der für Sonnabend abgesagt hatte.
