Schlag auf Schlag geht es für die Bayer-Herren in der Deutschen Wasserball Liga zur Sache. Am kommenden Wochenende steht der Mannschaft vom Waldsee die nächste schwere Auswärtsaufgabe bevor. Am Samstag ab 15:30 Uhr treffen sie in Hannover auf die dort heimischen White Sharks.
Die „weißen Haie“ halten momentan die sprichwörtliche Rote Laterne der Hauptrundengruppe A in Händen. Noch ohne Sieg und nur mit einem Unentschieden auf der Haben Seite stehen die Hannoveraner zum Ende der Hinrunde mit dem Rücken zur Wand. Dies macht die Aufgabe für die Werkssieben aus Uerdingen nicht einfacher. Beide Teams können jeden Punkt im Verfolgerrennen um den neuralgischen vierten Tabellenplatz gut gebrauchen. Dieser bedeutet bekanntermaßen die direkte Qualifikation für die Play Offs. Bayer Coach Kai Küpper muss weiter auf seinen Center Sven Roeßing verzichten und auch hinter dem Einsatz von Olympiateilnehmer Tim Wollthan steht noch ein Fragezeichen. Am vergangenen Wochenende hatte die Mannschaft um Kapitän Bartek Luczak jedoch im Pokal gezeigt, dass sie auch ohne die beiden erfahrenen Akteure durchaus schlagkräftig sind. Allen voran der 18 jährige Ben Reibel zeigt sich in der laufenden Saison bisher in bestechender Form und ist momentan der torgefährlichste Uerdinger. Sofern die Bayer-Herren in Hannover ihre Leistung abrufen können und ähnlich nervenstark agieren wie in den letzten knapp gewonnenen Partien gegen die SV Krefeld 72 und beim SVV Plauen stehen die Chancen für einen weiteren Auswärtssieg gut. Im Falle eines solchen könnten die zur Zeit sechstplatzierten Uerdinger Plauen vom fünften Tabellenplatz verdrängen, sofern Stadtnachbar SV Krefeld 72 Schützenhilfe leistet. Letztere empfangen am Samstagnachmittag die Vogtländer im Bockumer Badezentrum (Anpfiff 18:00 Uhr).
