Im Rahmen des 3. Münchner Wassersportfestivals feiern die Wasserballer der SG Stadtwerke München am vergangenen Sonntag einen knappen 9:8 Sieg gegen den absoluten Aufstiegsfavoriten aus Fulda.
Zum zweiten Mal in dieser Saison konnte die Mannschaft um Spielertrainer Ivan Mikić ein Heimspiel in der Münchner Olympia-Schwimmhalle austragen. Nach dem deutlichen Heimsieg gegen die Wasserballer aus Darmstadt, konnten sich die Münchner in einem diesmal weitaus spannenderen Spiel einen Sieg gegen den bis dato ungeschlagenen Tabellenersten der 2. Wasserball-Bundesliga Süd erkämpfen. „Die Atmosphäre im Olympiabad war hervorragend“, weiß Centerverteidiger Felix Ottke die Unterstützung der zahlreichen Zuschauer zu schätzen. Für die Gelegenheit den Wasserballsport unter diesen ausgezeichneten Bedingungen präsentieren zu dürfen und das anschließende starke Medieninteresse gilt es einen herzlichen Dank an die Organisation und an alle Beteiligten des 3. Münchner Wassersportfestivals auszusprechen.
Im Spiel ging die favorisierte Mannschaft aus Fulda schnell mit 3:0 in Führung. Die Münchner ließen die Köpfe jedoch nicht hängen, schafften es dran zu bleiben und kamen zum Ende des ersten Viertels auf ein 2:3 heran. Zur Halbzeit waren die Jungs von der Isar mit einem Zwischenstand von 4:6 immer im Spiel und konnten im dritten Viertel zwei weitere Treffer erzielen und jeglichen Gegentreffer verhindern. Im letzten Viertel konnte die Mannschaft um Spielertrainer Mikić den Schwung aus dem dritten Viertel mitnehmen und gewann schließlich mit 9:8 Toren gegen einen ebenfalls sehr stark auftretenden Gast aus Fulda.
Torwart Robert Idel wurde von Mikić später zum inoffiziellen „man of the match“ gekürt. Denn über die gesamte Partie hielt Idel seine Mannschaft mit seinen Paraden im Spiel. „Die Tore die Robert hinten verhindert hat, haben vor allem David und Marko P. vorne eiskalt reingemacht“, freut sich Mikić, der zugleich die hervorragende kämpferische Mannschaftsleistung hervorzuheben weiß.
Besonders stolz waren die Unterstützer und Mitglieder der Wasserballabteilung der SG Stadtwerke München an dem vergangenen Sonntag auf Ihren Nachwuchs. Die Jugendmannschaften der U13, U15 und U17 gewannen am selben Tag alle drei direkt hintereinander angesetzten Begegnungen gegen die entsprechenden Jugendmannschaften des 1. FC Nürnberg Schwimmen. Man durfte dem Trainergespann um Sandor Szeleczkei zu einem „lupenreinen Hattrick“ gratulieren.
In den nächsten drei Wochen um die Osterzeit stehen für die Mannschaft aus München keine Pflichtspiele an. Trainiert wird selbstverständlich trotzdem und zwar durchgehend. Denn das nächste Auswärtsspiel am 18.04.2015 in Ludwigshafen wird gewiss kein Selbstläufer, weiß Torwart Idel die anstehende Begegnung einzuschätzen. Idel kennt den Gegner gut, da er drei Spielzeiten lang (2009-2012) das Tor der Ludwigshafener hütete.
„Am Ostersonntag wird die sonntägliche Wassereinheit aber ausgesetzt“, so Mikić. „Das dürfen wir uns ausnahmsweise einmal erlauben“, fügt der Spielertrainer mit einem Augenzwinkern hinzu.
