Istanbul, 07.02.2015, Das Wasserball-Team Deutschland hat auch im zweiten Spiel der EM-Qualifikation gegen Weißrussland einen deutlichen Sieg eingefahren, am Ende hieß es in Istanbul (TUR) 17:6 für die Deutsche Sieben. Das Team von Arno Troost dominierte die Osteuropäer von Beginn an und schoss sich für das morgige Match um den Gruppensieg gegen Gastgeber Türkei noch einmal warm. Bester Torschütze auf deutscher Seite war am heutigen Tage Erik Bukowski mit fünf Treffern. Coach Troost bewertet das Spiel allerdings kritisch: „Wir haben heute deutlich gewonnen, das ist gut. Ein wirklich hochkarätiges Spiel war das aber nicht, dafür waren die Weißrussen einfach zu destruktiv. Die Quote im Torabschluss muss morgen noch besser werden.“
Morgen (12:30 Uhr MEZ) trifft das Wasserball-Team Deutschland auf die bislang ebenfalls mit zwei Siegen gestartete Türkei. Die Türken gewannen ihr Gruppenspiel gegen Litauen deutlich mit 14:6. Ein Sieg der deutschen Wasserballer bedeutet den ersten Platz in der Gruppe und damit eine komfortable Ausgangssituation für das zweite EM-Qualifikationsturnier im Oktober.
