Bemüht und engagiert aber am Ende leider wieder glückslos waren
die Weidener Bundesliga Wasserballer in ihrem Heimspiel am vergangen
Samstag gegen den SV Krefeld 72. Phasenwiese waren die Oberpfälzer noch
dran am Ausgleich, nutzten aber die entscheidenden Chancen nicht und
verloren am Ende mit 7:10. Damit bleibt die Mannschaft des
Schwimmvereines Weiden auf dem sechsten Tabellenrang der DWL-Gruppe B.
Am nächsten Samstag empfangen die SV-ler im Nachholspiel den
Tabellenführer SC Neustadt/Weinstraße.
Schon zum Beginn des Spiels zeigte sich die Chancenausbeute bedenklich.
Zwei Überzahlen ließen die Hausherren liegen und kassierten dafür den
ersten Gegentreffer nach einem Abstimmungsfehler in der Abwehr. Eine
Unterzahl konnte verteidigt werden, doch kurze Zeit später fiel das
zweite Gegentor aus einem schnellen Gegenstoß der Gäste. Je eine
Überzahl auf beiden Seiten blieben ungenutzt und die Kontrahenten
gingen damit mit 0:2 aus Sicht der Weidener in die erste Pause. Im
zweiten Abschnitt schienen die Wodarz-Schützlinge die Verteidigung in
ordentliche Bahnen bekommen zu haben, machten jedoch immer noch zu
wenig aus den Torchancen. Das Viertel ging dennoch auf das Konto der
Weidener und der 3:4 Halbzeitstand machte Mut. Es gelang nicht, direkt
nach der Pause auszugleichen, dafür trafen die Krefelder und erhöhten
auf 3:5 und später auf 3:6. Die Hausherren gaben aber nicht auf, sie
bewiesen Moral und erkämpften sich mit einem Doppelpack den
wiederholten 5:6 Anschluß. Leider konnten die Reger-Städter nicht mehr
ausgleichen und kassierten noch ein unglückliches Tor zum 5:7
Zwischenstand zur letzten Viertelpause. Das Schlußviertel begann sehr
vielversprechend, Weiden verteidigte die erste Unterzahl und nutzte die
nächsten zwei eigenen Überzahlen zum ersten Gleichstand an diesem Abend
(7:7). Die Zuschauer feuerten ihre Weidener euphorisch an und die
Hoffnung auf mehr überwog die Gefühle in der Halle. Keine vier Minuten
vorm Ende des Spiels nahm jedoch das Unglück seinen Lauf. Ein Fehler in
der Abwehr führte zum 7:8 für die Gäste, eine Minute später folgte das
7:9 in Unterzahl und das Spiel wurde damit entschieden. In der
Schlussphase des Spiels brillierte der gegnerische Torwart Sascha
Vaegs, der später zum Spieler des Tages gekürt wurde. Mindestens drei
hochkarätige Chancen vergaben die Weidener noch und scheiterten am
Krefelder Keeper, ehe das 7:10 fiel. Mit diesem Ergebnis endete auch
diese interessante, sehr körperbetonte aber sportlich faire Partie. Die
Weidener gingen wieder leer aus und müssen weiter auf die ersten
Ligapunkte des Jahres warten. Am kommenden Samstag kommt zwar die
nächste Chance dafür, doch der Gegner, aktueller Tabellenführer (in der
bereinigten Tabelle) wird ihnen die Sache sicherlich nicht einfacher
machen als die Krefelder. „Wir dürfen jetzt weder die Nerven noch die
Geduld verlieren. Das Spiel war knapp und hätte auch andersrum ausgehen
können, unsere Chancen werden wir noch bekommen und letztendlich
entscheidet sich alles in den letzten Wochen der Liga. Wir müssen jetzt
mit Geschlossenheit und ausgeprägtem Teamgeist weiterarbeiten“
